Hello All,
I have been doing some research and would like to get a feel for if the below is possible and what would need to happen to achieve this.
After looking at different threads and features I came up with a solution to watch and capture Blu-Ray HDCP content on linux without needing HDCP support on the linux system. Here is how.
1: Take the HDCP (HDMI) source and connect it to the HDFury2 (
http://www.curtpalme.com/HDFury2.shtm).
2: Take the component HDFury2 Output and HDFury2 SPDIF Output and connect it to the Hauppage HD-PVR (
http://www.hauppage.com/site/products/data_hdpvr.html).
3: Take the Hauppage HD-PVR and connect to the PC.
4: Configure LinuxMCE to use the HD-PVR. (This will need driver support and VDPAU which I am reading is in the works. Once driver support and VDPAU support is setup this should work like it should. Correct me if I am wrong.)
With this setup you wont get full 1080p as the HD-PVR will not support it. If there is another capture device that will support 1080p please let me know as this would be even better
. Please correct any information I posted here and please provide any comments to the above. Thank you for your time and have a great day!!!
Thanks,
JD
