Hi All,

I've been search for a couple of days looks for a way to play new DVD's on one of my MD's, The DVD's in question is either of the transformers DVD's; Please note, I'm not trying to copy or back them up I just want to play them!!! I know about CSS and some of the newer encryption methods, and at the end of the day, I paid full price for movies I cant watch... I can watch older movies and newer movies, just not these ones

Anyone able to play these DVD's without backing them up first then playing the ISO, etc..??

Cheers

Yeah, thats installed. I've been able to add a quick (very dirty) workaround using VLC:

Added a script to the computing application: /usr/pluto/bin/playdvd.sh
Quoteexport DISPLAY=:0   <--(just for testing)
chmod 777 /dev/scd0
sudo -u testuser /usr/bin/vlc-wrapper dvd:///dev/scd0 -f --album-art=0 --aspect-ratio=4:3 --save-config
#I did have to add testuser to the audio group

VLC is in the software lists for MD's so I assume there would be an easier way to better intergrate what I've done here using vlc-client??

Hmmm.... It appears that Mplayer is able to play it... So far using this work around: http://forum.linuxmce.org/index.php?topic=5583.5;wap2

Now I just have to find a way to force it to play DVD's rather than rips.
