Looks great, too bad it's blocked in Canada...   :'(

J.
And everywhere else  :)
Waiting for the first network to dare go international with a concept like Hulu. I'd pay for that :)

Installation issues / Re: Issues with 0710 RC

LMCE 0710 does not work on top of Ubuntu 0804, it works on top of Kubuntu 0710.
I would think that is your biggest problem.

I have yet to encounter a wired network card that is not compatible with Ubuntu.

The system will automatically use both NIcs, but not as you seem to think ;)
Think of one NIC as the WAN port on your router and the other as a LAN port.
The WAN NIC can/should be connectod to your modem/router.
The LAN to the house network, LMCE will now be your firewall, DHCP server and Gateway.
LMCE will only see files/media on the LAN and use the WAN to connect to the internet.

Hope that made sense

Avoid WiFi at all costs, it's not stable enough

Dunno about you guys, but so far KTorrent on the KDE desktop works out rather nicely for me.  8)
And before anyone starts crying "piracy", even the national broadcaster in Norway puts up their TV-shows for bit-torrent download (do a search for lars monsen for example)

negative on E-mails here as well.

Will a particular file play sometimes and not other? or will one file never play, while another always plays?
.avi is just a container, it can be any number of actual codecs. Therefore it would be interesting to know if it was limited to certain files or seemingly random.

Why rent when you can buy ;)
If there was some way to hook LMCE up to the emerging business of selling movies as downloads, that would be a much simpler route I would imagine. (then again, my imagination is quite vivid)

This might also be 'interesting'

Why this thread isnt trashed (meaning deleted) by a mod is beyond me.
All threads like this is kept as a warning, just like car wrecks are left in the ditch for some time (some places), or tar-filled lungs are shown in 'stop smoking' campaigns...
In the hopes that some actually do read before they wipe their computer.

Heck, I knew Ubuntu would probably cope with a dual boot install by itself, but I still backed up everything and made sure I had the understanding I needed to before going into my first install. (wich worked flawlessly).
LMCE is an operating system... you don't install an operating system without backing up what you are afraid to lose.

And if you have ever had to reinstall windows you would know this...
