Roxcore DVB-T USB Receiver

Hi gang!

Today I bought a dirt cheap TV receiver but got into trouble when I realised kernel 2.6.28 might be required (not verified).
Any experiences on upgrading to 2.6.28 or higher? Or should I try finding which modules are required and recompile 2.6.27? Or should I forget this and buy a decent, already supported receiver?

Well the Roxcore DVB-T USB Receiver is not listed as supported by Linux on http://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/Main_Page ...this probably means that Roxcore rebrand it from another company. I would suggest looking on the here on the LinuxMCE wiki for supported DVB-T tuners http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Capture_Cards#DVB-T_Cards_.28Terrestrial_viewing.29___VDR_or_MythTV. This is a growing list of supported tuner cards that are PnP within LinuxMCE... so adding these is just a matter of plugging them in and the rest is automatic.

The next way is to choose a DVB-T card that is supported by Linux from the LinuxTV Wiki and that has information about which kernel modules it requires and then go about adding those until the tuner is recognised and will deliver a TV picture.
