Sound volume never stops to increase

Hello,
Sometimes when I press volume buttons the MCE starts sending losts of IR signals to volume up (or down) the amplifier. You can imagine the panic when the volume starts to increase out of control...
I've verified this behaviour either by continuously pressing the button (aprox. 1sec) or pressing it progressively. Does this happen to anyone? Is there any fix for this?

yeah, I actually just did a fresh install so hopefully whatever bug it was wont re-appear

Besides re-intalling the system is there other aproaches, anyone?
