boot the MD by the core?
« on: October 29, 2009, 12:23:18 am »
In first sorry for my English, I'm french.  :-\

I work with Linux MCE 7.10, my 2 MD works fine, but in the beginning, when I turn on the core, the MD boot automatically. But now, it's not.
And I don't change anything.

So there is an option somewhere?

And What should I do to have the picture for the video-menu, instead of the name of the video?

it is the first in a long list of questions  ;)

thanks for Lmce, it is really good.

and thanks Google translate......   :-[

Sorry for my English
but thanks google tranlate!!

Welcome to LinuxMCE! or as Google translate says "Bienvenue à LinuxMCE" ;-)

your problem might be a simple network problem. Have you checked all the LAN cables and the router or switch?

All the best

thanks, for your answer,  ;D

and, now, one of the MD boot, (I don't make anything, I just connect my samba server)
MDs are connected on the same switch, I reverses the LAN cables  and it changes nothing.

I re-asked:

"And What should I do to have the picture for the video-menu, instead of the name of the video?"   :D

And the next question:
it is important to have a good graphic card in the core? If it's just the core and not hybride?
If yes, I can virtualized the core with a network card assigned?

it makes great economic power   ;)

Does your Core have two NIC's?

Cover art for ripped media (ie CD's or DVD's) depends on the CD/DVD being ID'd when it is inserted into the optical drive...this needs a working external broadband connection of course. If the disc inserted is recognised then LinuxMCE will associate Cover art with it. If you have copied mp3 files to /home/public/data/music then UpdateMedia will automatically scan it and if it has id3 data (including cover art) it will discover it and associate it in the DB.

If you are not going to use the Core as a Hybrid then I would suggest using UI1 and a basic Intel GPU or low end nVidia card or on-board GPU is adequate. Some people here use VM's to test Core's and experiment and some have done the same for 'production' Cores too - but we have never taken that route so i cant comment from personal experience on that issue.

heuuu.... if NIC's are network card yes  :-[

for covert art I find yesterday on the wiki, (great wiki) but nothing are recognize.
I've a lot of TV serie and movie on my samba server, I have to rename the video file?

So somebody have a solution for the serie? for less override display files?

For VM, the problem is the graphic cards, who's very basic, so If the core does not need, I can virtualized him in my samba server and have only one PC running 24/24.

Now, the new question:

the only thing that does not work is to see the TV from my freebox, I launch the Mythtv setup, the scan for the channel work's fine, but I can't watch TV I've a black screen.

How is the Freebox connected to your Core? Have you used a video capture card for example?

they function at random, I think that my switch is KO.

I just install the web-orbiter, I like it, It work on a computer, but on my palm or my mobilephone is don't.

the menu is displayed, but nothing happens when I touch the screen.  And I don't know why.

it possible to create submenu in the file menu? with the TV series, it's very  hard to find the good file.

And for covert art, I don't find why is not work, I rename more simply my movie or serie, but nothing is known by covert art.
