I have been having trouble with mythtv's performance. It will very often get a horizontal line of distortion (ripping) across the screen when the picture is moving rapidly. Also from time to time mythtv locks up completely. The guide also freezes from time to time. I can exit myth and then restart it,but sometimes it takes a long time to restart. I have increased the amount of cpu that myth is allowed to use from the default low to high, and that has made the problems a touch less frequent but they still occur regularly.
I enabled opengl in myth, but that has also had no effect.
I have found many posts about mythtv doing this but none of these have been in 8.10.
Has anyone else had this trouble or does anyone else have any idea how to fix it. I am using UI2 with blending on LMCE, but I took transparency off of the guide in myth. This helped the issues with the guide freezing a bit. I am not having any trouble with freezing when myth is not running.
Don't think processing power is the issue but just in case here are my hardware specs:
pvr 250 tuner card
soundblaster audigy 2
AMD Phenom 9350E quad core processor @ 2.0Ghz
as rock N68-S MB
Patriot Viper 4 GB ram
1 TB HDD
HTPC case and 500W PS combo
USB-UIRT
Rosewill GB ethernet as second NIC
GeForce 8400 GS 512MB video card
Any help that anyone could offer would be MOST appreciated.
