Is there a changelog for the last couple of updates.

I think something bad has happened to my mythtv server component,  in that my xbmc/openelc front ends can no longer show live tv or recorded tv.

Any way to roll back to test?

Hi Rod,

We just install the current MythBuntu package. We don't do anything at all to this package. Nothing else we do or install when installing Dianemo will affect Mythbuntu. So if its broken the only option is to wait for the Mythbuntu guys to fix it in an updated package. So far we have not had any indication of a breakage however.

We have released a new device template today that enables you to control the input selection on any Samsung SmartTV using UPnP over IP. This template also allows you to send Volume up/down & mute commands to your Samsung SmartTV too. See the new Dianemo S wiki page entry below for more details;

http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Dianemo_S#Samsung_SmartTV_Input_Switching

To get this update and any other pending ones please run the updater script as described here; http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Dianemo_S#Updating_Dianemo

Update Available - Support for Rako Lighting Control using TCP or UDP
« Reply #348 on: March 15, 2013, 10:00:43 am »
We have added support for IP control of wired & wireless Rako lighting using any of the current TCP/UDP capable Rako bridges. The standard Rako installation and configuration is all that's needed to enable Dianemo to automatically interrogate the Rako installation and pull that setup into Dianemo. If you have a Rako installation already then just add a Rako UDP Bridge or Rako TCP Bridge device to your Devices Tree in Web Admin, fill in the IP address field for the Rako Bridge you are using and do a reload... The Rako Rooms & channels will be automatically imported from the Rako Bridge and if your Room names match those in the bridge Dianemo even automatically creates scenarios for them too. Once you have Rako lights in your system they just work, and are controlled just like any other type of light. If you have other Rako devices eg Blinds, drapes or other controls then they will work too.

See the new wiki section here for details; http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Dianemo_S#Rako_Wireless_.26_Wired_Lighting_Control

Please update your system as usual to get the update.

Update available - Updated Intel support in AVwizard
« Reply #349 on: March 20, 2013, 04:09:53 pm »
We've pushed out updated support for Intel in the AVwizard over-night. This fixes and improves handling of HDMI setup in the AVwizard on Intel GPU based systems. The TV's EDID is ignored now, Better handling of HDMI output naming, we handle 1080p better now too and we fixed a bug which mean that xorg.conf was not getting written in certain circumstances and various other small bugs. Upshot is the AVwizard should work much better now on Intel GPU's.

As ever run your update script to update your system with this update and any other pending updates from us or Canonical.

All the best

We have released an update that further integrates Logitech Media Server into Dianemo. We now use LMS to scan your audio media library and we then read the LMS database for any mp3 tag metadata. UpdatedMedia then uses that meta data directly. This means that Dianemo's internal DB get's better meta data about the audio tracks in your library and remains in sync with LMS now.

Another advantage we get from this tight integration with LMS is the tighter coupling with your iTunes audio library if you are an iTunes user. If you have stored your iTunes library on a storage device that is managed by your Dianemo NC then you will see in your Orbiters exactly the same meta data about your music that iTunes see's as we leverage LMS's ability to read iTunes meta data. This symbiotic relationship with LMS is dynamic in that as LMS scans for new material in your media library Dianemo will see those changes too and your Orbiter's will display them - this applies to music track and also to iTunes Playlists.

I know lot's of you have been asking for better playlist integration and also for a way to get your iTunes playlists into Dianemo... if you're one of those people you will be very happy with this update! If you already have a large number of playlists created in iTunes this allows you to replicate those in your Dianemo Orbiters and use then directly in your Dianemo S system. As you edit playlists in iTunes (or on a iOS device thats sync'd with iTunes) your changes will be picked up by Dianemo (it may take about 10 mins for changes to be reflected in your Orbiters).

Expect further announcements about integration with LMS in the coming months. There will be a new Dianemo S wiki page entry covering LMS integration shortly.

Don't forget to run the updater script regularly to get this update and future ones too.

All the best

Andrew

**Note; Make sure you configure LMS to use your audio media directory otherwise you will not get any meta data.
Hi,

I'm a bit disappointed with this enhancement :-( .

We've lost possibility to sort/browse music collection by filename that we were using for at least few years now. WAF (Wife Acceptance Factor) for our system is now much lower.... Any chance that user can retain/select older Audio collection behaviour ?

Right now, beside collection being organized by genre (domestic, foreign, pop,rock, ...) we also have certain directories where kids have stored their own mp3s. They are from different genres - how can I integrate that into collection without using Directory structure ? Can I use any other attribute for that to denote those files for daughter's files that can be easily selected from new interface ?

Regards,

Bulek.

Bulek,

with an original LinuxMCE setup, you could add another genre to all these files, and they could be selected using this additional genre. No idea if that is supported under the Dianemo scheme of things.

Thanks for info... I guess that Dianemo depends on features that are offered by Logitech Media Server and for now, I couldn't find any way to do this... But who knows...

Update available - Merged Video/Audio Rooms
« Reply #354 on: March 25, 2013, 05:32:04 pm »
We've released an update that makes it possible to locate a video & audio device in the same room. This enables you to have an MM, SmartTV or other UPnP device in the same Room as your Squeezeslave device allowing you to have the audio from the video stream routed to your Squeezeslave. This is particularly useful if your installation has in-ceiling speakers or other in-built speakers as part of your in-room audio setup.

See the new Dianemo wiki page section here for details; http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Dianemo_S#Merging_Video_.26_Audio_in_a_single_Room

As usual please run the updater script to make sure your system has the latest updates applied.

Update available - Configuring a Stand-alone Camera Server
« Reply #355 on: April 02, 2013, 06:21:59 pm »
Sometimes you may have a need to manage your IP cameras on a separate machine instead of your NC. This is usually driven by performance issues on a heavily loaded NC. We have added a section to the Dianemo Wiki that explains the steps required and have pushed out a companion Update that adds scripts to support this type of configuration;

http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Dianemo_S#Adding_a_Standalone_Kmotion_based_Camera_Server_to_your_System

As usual please make sure you run the updater script to update your Dianemo installation before you do the above steps in the Wiki.

Update Available - ZWave Device binary updated
« Reply #356 on: April 06, 2013, 12:44:07 am »
We have released an updated ZWave device binary this evening.

Today we discovered a bug in the ZWave device. A very old bug that's been there for a long time. This bug caused commands sent to multiple sleeping devices to be dispatched when a sleeping device woke up, even if the messages weren't meant for it. Those extraneous messages would time out, obviously, and get lost, so their intended target never received them. If three of these timeouts happened in a row then the ZWave DCE device would think that the USB dongle had a problem, so it would soft-reset it. This would cause all pending undelivered messages to get lost.

As usual pleased run the updater script to download and install this update on your System.

All the best

Update available - New UPnP Devices Page Added to Web Admin
« Reply #357 on: April 09, 2013, 04:46:48 pm »
We have released an update today that adds a new page to Web Admin that will list the details of all the UPnP devices that are detectable on your Dianemo systems LAN. This means that you can discover, identify and configure UPnP devices now without requiring any external UPnP discovery tools. All that's required now is a Web Browser and Web Admin.

You can find the UPnP Devices page in Web Admin here;

Advanced->Configuration->UPnP Devices

There is also an enhanced and updated Wiki section here to help you use UPnP Devices to configure devices on your system here;

http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Dianemo_S#Adding_a_UPnP_Device_To_Your_System

As usual please run your Updater script to update your system with the latest Dianemo & Ubuntu updates.
