I think I messed up my ZWave....
« on: September 12, 2009, 12:04:47 am »
I have the zwave dongle.. you know the black one with the blue LED button that blinks. I forgot the name of it right off hand but.. anyway. I just reinstalled my core and went down to the 32 bit version of 7.10 so I could install the new zwave drivers. Anyway...My dongle was not adding my lights after I walked around my house and paired them. The wizard would not get past the part that wanted to initiate the master controller to copy my devices. So it was stuck... I attempted to update to the new driver listed on the first page of the zwave driver topic on this forum. I extracted the file and noticed that the current one was just called zwave. so I renamed the file zwave and copied over the old one. Now my driver will not launch. can someone please help me out. seemed so seamless before....

you don't need to "download config" with the controller you are referring to with built in inclusion button.

Nobody seems to care to write this into the wiki pages. I've already done of z-wave pages there. Please document that stuff.

...So when swapping out the zwave driver do I just rename to extracted file to ZWave and replace the old one then reload the router? The problem I am having now is that when I try to use the Wizard LMCE tells me there is a problem and cannot load the driver.

did you set the executable flag on the binary? (chmod +x)

I don't think I have. I can do that.
Also on the forum topic I have found 3 different ZWave downloads... which one should I use?

It is good. I need to turn it in to it's own design job and I have not had a chance to do it. I was having some database issues with my core, (i messed some things up) and I wanted to go back to the 32bit version so I reinstalled LMCE to my core. I just got the skin reinstalled by replacing my basic skin folder with a basic folder containing my LCARS Skin. It is litterally 99% done. I have a few buttons left over to fix and the number pad in UI 2 to finish. Other then that its good.

Yeah.. I just found a page I had not even started on yet. I don't use the phones so I just checked the dial out page and found that I haven't even started on that one yet.. it will be easy though because I believe it is the same as one of the other pages I have done already and I will most likely just copy over.
I still have to reinstall mysql browser and HAdesigner to make some changes to the font after my reinstall on my core. I got tired of having to copy the new font every time I readded my MD's If you guys want the skin without the font change you can have it soon.
