some laptops and eeebox b202 have the spdif integrated in the 3,5mm audio jack

All the Eee Box's (B202, B204, B206) ship with an spdif adapter that cleverly adapts the stereo output jack on the back to optical out. The jack socket has the Laser emitter assembly built into it and the adapter provides a light-pipe to a standard optical socket.Andrew
That certainly is clever. Now the only question is, how long will we have to wait for this gift from above? I read somewhere about a "back-to-school" release time frame for the US.:Matt
Play.com are listing 4 different models and IMO I'd go for the cheapest one and swap out the hard drive for something a bit bigger. No point in paying for a Vista Premium license if you care going to put LinuxMCE on it is there?RegardsRich
