Insteon versus Zwave
« on: March 23, 2009, 05:39:31 pm »
I am going through incredible grief over getting Insteon docs for the new 2412N Ethernet based controller for Insteon lighting and HA products.

What can anyone suggest as far as zwave and its use in mce? Is it pretty solid, and issues to be aware of?
Also, does anyone have any reco's as far as a manufacture to favor for zwave integrated products?

Thanks for any insight!

I'm looking at zwave myself. Have you read the wiki? I saw a post in the forum concerning the new driver, but haven't read it yet. I may end up going with x10 though, due to cost, and a buddy who can get the pieces at a discount. Good luck!

I see there is a myriad of devices supported in svn for inclusion in 810. I don't really know anything about zwave but I know if Insteon gets support, all the devices would get covered. I am working with Thom hopefully at adding support for the 2412N and am awaiting what he thinks it will take as far as hours. A guy at Insteon has been a total hard ass with me and not made this easy.
