Tried the example URL. But that one does not work. The URL also does not play in Windoes media player. My URL is verified in Windows media player.

Log from sample url wiki underneath and added bigger part of the log with the original URL.

I found the following FAQ on the following website
http://xinehq.de/index.php/faq#STDIN

Do I need to install additional codecs or what ever after installing LinuxMCE from the 7.10 RC2 DVD (3.9 GB) ?

Can I watch Windows Media (.asf/.wmv/.wma) files using xine?
While the container format (system layer) ASF (wmv is just an alias) is fully supported in xine, for newer windows media 9 based streams you'll need to install windows binary codecs (.DLLs).

Possibly the most convenient way to get the Windows DLLs is to download them from the MPlayer website http://www.mplayerhq.hu/design7/dload.html . The package is called "essential". Unpack it and move everything you find inside to /usr/lib/codecs (actually you can place them anywhere you want, e.g. someplace in your home directory, but then you'll have to set decoder.external.win32_codecs_path in your xine config file accordingly). Restart xine then and you should be able to watch windows media streams.

Install the w32codecs (or w64codecs) in the setup wizard.

I also tried out this wiki, and the problem that I ran into was that I couldn't find a stream that didn't have some sort of popup media player associated with it, has anyone else run into this situation? The problem is I can copy the URL from the pop up player but it is just a generic URL, it isn't station specific. If you take the same url and just put it in the address of firefox it just pops up the station selector. I tried the example link on the wiki and it wouldn't do anything. Does anyone have a link that they are currently using with this wiki that is known to work?
