PVR card suggestions
« on: December 09, 2008, 11:04:56 pm »
Hi Guys,

Ordered two T-500s from ebuyer, and i'm sure you can guess what i was sent :(

So now on the lookout for a new card.

I'm running mce 7.10, on a dc AMD and 4 gb of ram on the core, so resources are spare.

I'm after

1. Dual tuner
2. Ideally low profile

I wouldn't also mind possibly getting a second card for freesat (as we currently have sky +, so have a quad LNB )

Thanks guys!

Hmmm... well you could try a Dvico FusionHDTV dual Digital 4 http://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/DVB-T_PCI_Cards#DViCO

These are kind of working... but are not 100% stable... but probably more stable than the T500 non-Diversity variant ;-)

All the best

Hi,

Thanks for the link, it was exactly what i was looking for!

I notice in the nova-t-500 it states -

As of 28/08/2008, according to Michael Krufky, all currently released versions, including the Diversity model, are supported by head of v4l-dvb hg, and the driver is likely to stay ahead of new card releases in the future. Please if anyone finds any of the further comments below still relevant in the next 6 months then mark them so, otherwise I intend to remove them to tidy up.

Is it worth trying to get the TDs working? Or are they rubbish to begin with :)
