Flickr Not Displaying Screen Saver

Hey guys,

So I got my new MD up in the living room... everything works great except for the Flickr Screen Saver. When it goes to run, it just gives me a white screen, no pictures. The MD Is using OpenChrome VIA Graphics drivers and UI1. As I said everything else works great, audio, movies, etc. Not sure what the deal is. Core and MD are also both running 710. Someone said it sounded like a "shoddy" network, but i'm sure the network is fine... everything is running at 100MBps or faster.

Not sure what the problem is.... any help or suggestions?

In the Admin website device is configured as so:

The screen saver doesn't run on UI1 does it?

That's great that you have had good success with the OpenChrome drivers. For me, playback was choppy and I went back to MythBuntu 7.10, which seems to work perfectly. Go figure.

It still runs, or at least is Supossed to run, in UI1. Just not with all the nice fades and transitions provided in UI2. I can't for the life of me figure out why I'm getting a white screen instead of actual pictures.

Yea, I posted some better directions on how to install the OpenChrome drivers on the wiki site. I had to do a bit of tinkering, but eventually got it. One thing I forgot to add was that in 710, you need generate a new xorg.conf file using the

X -configure

command. Then copy it from your home directory, place it in /etc/X11/xorg.conf. Then you have to vi edit it, and change it to your display settings. It's a bit a pain in the arse... but worked fine after that.

Oh, I can't even remember what it was supposed to do. On the core, if you don't get flickr images it's because you have no working internet connection, but on the MD, it should be pulling the images from a NFS mount point.

Yes, I saw that. I spent a couple days playing with my office via box and wasn't successful. I finally got the drivers to install with your additional instructions, but playback still sucked. I should try that on our master-bedroom machine. I think it's got more power.

Yea I'm wondering if it might be still a graphic driver issue or something... I know the images work on the core just fine... tested it out. And if I look at the directory on the MD, all the files are there and mounted. and the log would "seem" to indicate it's trying to show them at least. I dunno... that's why I posted this one
