Hi, is it possible to load and use LinuxMCE and Ubuntu, on two seperate hard drives inside the same box . Any help gratefully appreciated

Yes you can do that. You would have to use the CD install process. I would start by installing Ubuntu first. Then Install Kubuntu on a separate partition to create a duel boot system. This can be done automatically Using the Kubuntu Live install CD after installing Ubuntu. Once you have installed Kubuntu then Install LMCE using the 2 CD installer. This takes some time but it will give you flexibility to how you want LinuxMCE set up. There is no way I know of to do it using the DVD installer.

I hope this is helpful

Well he is going to be using 2 seperate drives fearingsept.  So it should not be a problem to use the DVD on one of them.  As a precaution I would recommend unhooking the other drive during installation though, just to make sure you can't accidentally pick the wrong drive.
