Drives with DVD Movies don't load
« on: July 04, 2008, 06:45:02 pm »
Maybe someone knows this answer and how to do this.  I have installed 0710 rc2 and I have 3 HDD from my previous 0704 install that contains DVD Movies.  However the system won't recognize them.

Is there a way to force the system to recognize these DVD's and Pictures.

Hi,

Could you explain your setup?  A little history, core, core/hybrid, NAS, etc?

Everything work o.k under previous 704 but now it's pooched?

My clean install of RC2 picked up all my HDD's and NAS.  Core with storage HDD/+NAS/+ 2 diskless MD's.

Thanks.

Thanks for the reply.  Here are my spec's:

Core:

Mobo:  ASUS P5N-D
Proc:   Core 2 Duo
RAM:    4 Gb
Video:   XFX Geforce 8500GT
HDD:
(1) Maxtor 320Gb -SATA
(2) WD 400Gb -SATA - Previously ripped DVD's and Pics
(3) @2 WD 500 GB - eSATA - Previously repped DVD's about 150 of them

One thing I notice is that if I am in KDE and look at storage devices, I continue to see that the disks in question have a HAL error and I can't access them.  but after a little time, they appear to connect and I can access the drives but not see any of the files (with exception to the WD 400Gb).
