Hi all looking to start my LinuxMCE Hybrid build in the next few days, Just want to get your opinions if any on the following list.
:) :)
Motherboard --- Asus M2N-X Plus
CPU ----------- AMD 2  4800+
Tuner Card ---- Dvico FusionHDTV DVB-T Dual Express - PCIe
Video Card ---- XFX 8500GT 512MB, DDR2, 128bit, PCIE, DVI, VGA, TV Out
:) :)
Any Advice would be apreciated, from what I have read so far I have played it safe with the Nvidia Video Card, I have seen the FusionHDTV cards listed as working out of the box on the LinuxMCE WIKI. I also read about the ASUS M2N motherboard working ok but can't find anything on the N2N-X Plus........

Advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Bernie (Melbourne, Australia)

Hi there,

We're testing the Dvico FusionHDTV DVB-T Dual Express - PCIe and its not a smooth ride right now. If your interested in getting 'your hands dirty' with this card then great... go for it but if your looking for an easy install and a working system then I would cusrrently avoid it (nice as the Dvico hardware is!). See the url below for more info;

All the best

Thanks for the feedback Andrew, I want to make this as easy as possible so I will change that one out...

Edit --> Jesus, Just checked out the following link....
http://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/DVB-T_PCI_Cards#MSI

From what I can see, most of the card do not work out of the box!!
Can anyone recommend a DVB-T Dual Digital tuner that %100 work with 7.10?

regards

Bernie.

The (PCI) Dvico Dual digital 2 works for me with very little work.... following these instructions:
http://www.itee.uq.edu.au/~chrisp/Linux-DVB/DVICO/

I should note that I have quality issues with all TV cards currently but I don't believe that is the cards fault.

Edit:
Andrew - just noticed that the linuxtv link you posted takes you to the same instructions (for the Dvico FusionHDTV DVB-T Dual Express- PCIe). Interested to know about your experience (as you know I've had some issues with PCI cards ;)). When you say "not a smooth ride right now" - do you mean you've had problems with it once installed or just that it doesn't work out of the box?

Thanks!
Adriel.
