failed to cache live kunbuntu cd

the machine was initially a basic ubuntu but I put
kunbuntu 7.10 on it by changing the apt sources to the
gutsy ones and
doing an 'apt-get install kubuntu-desktop'

when the MCE installer askes im using the all three iso's
straight from the harddrive.
The md5sums for all three iso's are fine.

does anybody understand whats going on here?

Have you double checked that you have enough extra space on your hard drive?

i have the same problem ,it reads the linuxmce just fine but faileds to cache live kunbuntu cd. i have also clone the disc using kde and still no joy. working again on it to see what happens.

ERROR : Could not cache Kubuntu Live Cd

I have 320 gb harddrive so space ins't an issue .
i have checked the cd and there's nothing wrong with the disc.
