Hello I've been trying to upgrade a working 7.04 setup (dedicated core with two NIC's and acting as the DHCP router and seperate diskless media director, both systems using  Asus M2NPV-VM motherboards) to version 7.10 Beta 4. I downloaded the DVD Iso (LinuxMCE-DVD-0710Beta4-amd64.iso) and burned it to a dual layer DVD. I then proceded to upgrade the core by turning the system off and restarting with the the core with the disk inserted. The process seemed to go smoothly ( I chose to overwrite the existing 7.04 install) My problem seems to be that at no time does the installation process ask if this is to be a dedicated core or hybrid. The installation just reboots directly into the AV wizard. So my question to all of you knowledgeable people is how do I get this to install as the core/DHCP server

Thanks for your help

Hmmm... if you custom built a 'headless' 7.04 Core then the upgrade process will not retain that config as far I know. However you can just go into Web admin and setup your networking & DHCP as you did under 7.04 with 7.10

Thanks for the reply Andrew,

But I went back and re-read the wiki (http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Installation_Guide) it seems like the two cd option is the only way to get a dedicated core. The only place that I deviated from the wiki is that I wanted to load the AMD 64 version and the link in the wiki is for the Kbuntu 7.10 I 386 version, so a short google search netted the 64 bit Kbuntu 7.01 and all is well.....

Thank you for your help
