myth setup?
« on: April 10, 2008, 10:56:52 pm »
hi all another stupid question (from a daft newbie)
during the myth tv setup
when setting up the xml grabber
it stops 50% in (waiting for your responses to channel listings)
I know at this point I have to open the originating console box
but I don't know how :)
sorry for yet another stupid question!

oh one last thing..
if I where to use VDR instead of myth.. do I still have to try and find an initial tuning file?
and can I use VDR with an external source (asy a cable box) and get the epg from somewhere?
again... sorry ;)

It might be running in another screen, try <CTRL><ALT> and your function keys to access the other tty's.

I usually try and run mythtv-setup from the command line for the same reason as then you know where the dialogue will occurr.

hi all!
still can't find how to get back to the terminal I launched mythtv-setup in ???
once myth setup has launched in x there seems to be no going back!
is it just me suffering this issue?
seems to me that when you try to setup the xml grabber it should launch in a seperate terminal on top of the x session??
but I am no expert!!
any thoughts anyone?
the only way I can complete Mythsetup is to tell Myth not to use an xml grabber at all and just use iet..
but this won't be much of a solution when I hook up to my cable box!!
