Is it necessary to run A/V wizard after each saving of network settings ?

Hi,

I'm a bit experimenting with my network settings and it seems like I have to run A/V wizard on each MD after I save network settings (or something similar that I do frequently these days)...

Is this behaviour really connected to network configuration or am I doing something else ?
What causes A/V wizard to be started on MD ?

Thanks in advance,

regards,

Bulek.

in my experience it has not been necessary to run the A/V wizard after network settings changes (though the last time I have changed any network settings was in beta 3, not in beta 4)
This almost reminds me of a bug report I've seen in mantis (though not with the A/V wizard interaction you are mentioning)

Hi Bulek,

No you should not need to do that

Hi,

thanks for response. My problem isn't that I'd like to do this, but A/V wizard is automatically started on MDs. So I basically have to do it all over again -cause I'm not sure how to skip it...

So - it's automatically started, so I began to suspect why it happens... And focused maybe network settings cause don't know what else could trigger such behaviour...

Bulek.

Hmmm... seems like the flag that gets set to make the AVwizard run on re-boot is stuck on 'true'. Try going to the 'Advanced' menu on on of your MD's and forcing the Avwizard to run on re-boot by clicking on the 'Video Res & Audio Setup' button... let the MD reboot and then complete the AVwizard again and see if this clears the problem. If not you could try using rebuild image from Web Admin for one of the MD's to see if that then fixes the problem... and the final suggestion that does not fix it is to delete the PXE booted MD's and re-add them again. Of course this last option is not to used on the Hybrid itself!

Hope this helps you

Where can I see that flag ?

Zaerc

These settings in /etc/pluto.conf are probably related:

AVWizardOverride = 0
AVWizardDone = 1

See Zaerc's post... he got there ahead of me ;-)

Try editing the conf file... but you may find that the problem is deeper than that.
