PVR 500 and VDR - is this possible ?
« on: March 04, 2008, 01:37:53 pm »
Hi,

I'd kindly ask if someone from more experienced VDR users can estimate effort needed to support analog tuner cards under VDR. As far as I remember ,there was somekind of plugin for interfacing VDR with those cards, but I'm not sure how well is maintained and how well is working...

Anyone more insight ?

I'm stronlgy considering VDR option cause I get impression that integration can be better with VDR than it is with Mythtv - or am I wrong ?

Thanks in advance,

regards,

Bulek.

There is a plugin to enable the viewing of sky (or other external box) through a av port of a pvr card - http://www.linuxtv.org/vdrwiki/index.php/Sky-plugin

Don't know if it has seen success in LMCE, but I know 'totallymaxed' is looking at it. I will be attempting this also, so i'll keep you updated with my progress.

And yes, it appears that VDR will form a better integration with LMCE
