Script to play music from a playlist at start
« on: February 21, 2008, 10:29:35 pm »
I plan to use the 'wake on alarm' feature of the motherboard to start/resume LMCE at a fixed time in the morning and/or evening. I want it to play music from a specified playlist at that time. Any ideas on how I can do this? If someone can provide directions and some samples, I can try it out and post the final script here. Thanks!

You could create a scheduled event from the admin site and use the MH PlayMedia command to trigger the music. Set your hardware to power up a few minutes before the event is due to trigger. I noticed that there is an on and off event criteria as well - not sure but that could be as simple as a power on and off event so that could be even simpler - but would trigger every time you rebooted rather than just in the mornings when you want it...

Colin,

I tried to access the admin webpage http://dcerouter/pluto-admin
I tried user: linuxmce  password: linuxmce (which is the default, I haven't changed anything)
but it doesn't accept. Do I need to login with a different ID?

The user for webadmin is set during install.
It depends on the name you set for your first user.
By default your password is the same as your first users name with the with one difference. First letter is replaced with a capital one.

Like:
user: niz23
pass: Niz23

User linuxmce is only valid when you access your system from console or through ssh.

thanks niz - but I don't get the capital thing. My logins have always been colin and colin - no capitals at all. I believe this is the norm...

My bad...
Always created my users with a capital letter from the beginning.
