Looks like an interesting project... it has the 'in vogue' Apple'like UI treatment too! Could'nt access the site... so will drop by there again later...

I also cannot access their site.

Is this a machine or just a piece of software as from the viedo it looks to me just like a UI?

Hmm... I can still access the site ?!?

This is from their front page:

Introduction

Entertainer aims to be a simple and easy-to-use media center solution for Gnome and XFce desktop environments. Entertainer is written completely in Python using object-oriented programming paradigm. It uses GStreamer multimedia framework for multimedia playback. User Interface is implemented with Clutter UI-library, which allows sleek OpenGL animated user interfaces. Entertainer also uses other great projects like SQLite, pyIMDBb and iNotify.

The ultimate goal of the project is to create the best media center solution available for any platform. This means that Entertainer should be the best looking, most easy to use and most feature filled media center solution available. Not the easiest goal to achieve. It's a long way, but we have a good start here!

If you are interested in participating in the project, please send me an e-mail to lauri@taimila.com.

This is how to get it:

Downloads

As Entertainer is still under heavy development, there is no official releases yet. This doesn't mean that you can't test it and send bug reports. Entertainer's source code is hosted at Google code. I have written detailed instructions for downloading and installing Entertainer under Ubuntu Gutsy. You can read these instructions from here. See also key bindings.

Entertainer Source code is hosted at Google Code SVN repository. To get the latest version of Entertainer, give the command below in your terminal application.

svn checkout http://entertainer-media-center.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/ entertainer

No, I went there...  downloaded and installed..  spent all day trying to get it to work...  no go...  I just wanted to see the UI in person...

As far as I can tell, Entertainer uses the same type of framework as Elisa..  python, gstreamer...  I tried Elisa a while back and video playback was crap...  could have been my hardware though...  I will admit, the UI looks really nice in Entertainer (from the screenshots)...  with all the talk about UI3 in linuxmce, is Clutter even an option??  I'm not a programmer so I don't know much about this.
