is there any way to watch tv full screen. i have my video set at 720p and myth tv shows 4:3 with black bars on either side

I'm by far no expert, but can't you just change the resolution in xorg.conf

tschak909

that's not the issue

the issue is, he's watching 4:3 content on a 16:9 display

you can't make it fit on 16:9 without either stretching it, or cropping it.

hit the M key while in the MythTV mode. you can change aspect ratio there for what you are currently viewing...

for recorded videos, simply use the Aspect Ratio menu item from the orbiter's main menu.

I'm not familiar with Myth... but are the TV shows broadcast in 4:3 or 16:9? If they were broadcast in 4:3 then Myth is just showing them as they are broadcast. I assume Myth has some setting that will allow you to stretch/crop the 4:3 picture to 16:9 though.
