DHCP through wireless router WAN->LAN
« on: November 30, 2007, 01:46:43 am »
I just setup a core machine with dual NICs, one is connected to the cable modem and the other is connected to the WAN port on my wireless router.  The problem is, while the router is successfully connected to the core, the machines connected to the router cannot receive DHCP from the core.  What do I need to set or open in my router so that machines can receive IPs from the core on the WAN port of the router?

Cable Modem -> Core machine -> DI-624 router -> Other PCs

it doesnt go into the wan port. just plug it into a lan port.

yeah, as long as they have the correct gateway and dns server entries they will. do you have enough ports for it all? when you say it was successfully connected to the wan port did you mean you were able to access the router from linuxmce?
