Error: "Cannot execute binary file" while trying to install

Hi,

I get the following error when I'm trying to install LMCE from the DVD:
"usr/bin/lite-installer.sh: line 101: /bin/tar: cannot execute binary file"

I tried several times and it always gives me the same error message. I also checked the DVD's md5 checksum and it was ok.

Does anyone know what might be causing this? Or what should I do? Any help would be appreciated.

 They have been several posts about this kind of issue.

The DVD does work fine but discs and drives are not too reliable this days.

try using another DVD or use a different DVD writer. this happened to me on a 2 month old DVD drive.
