Common Compatible Hareware for the CORE.
« on: October 10, 2007, 04:37:40 pm »
Seem like most of us (NEWBIES) still having problems on setting up the CORE and get the deivces operate. Why don;t we start working on a CORE with common hardware and look for 100% plug n play? At least we (THE NEWBIES) can start from there. Fiire doing a good job here. But their machine is expensive.

May be Paul Webber can release the detail specification of the CORE which show in the Demo Video. Like what model of mainboard/graphic card/nic/and etc.

What is interesting about that page is that the link for the zwave controller goes to a intermatic device.  Yet several other threads

http://forum.linuxmce.org/index.php?topic=2288.0

http://forum.linuxmce.org/index.php?topic=2258.0

http://forum.linuxmce.org/index.php?topic=2456.15

and others

say that the intermatic isn't supported.

So what is the real story Paul ?

those arent the pc controllers for the zwave. those are remote controls and modules. any module will follow a standard and can be used. there is no driver support for the internatic usb device that would control things via linuxmce. it also says the one used int he video (ZCU000) has been discontinued.
