Pc (B) dual booted with XP / suse10 in study.
PC (C) with suse10 - hidden away - holding all media files.

i am a little unsure which pc i should install linux mce on?
and which i should have as MD's

Any help much apreciated.

Honestly, I would go for PC(D) the one that you don't mind messing up untill you get some hands-on experience, and then try connecting PC(A) and PC(B) as diskless media directors.  If that works to your satisfaction I would consider making PC(C) the core.
