Every now and again, whatever it is I'm watching flicks to another channel. Then as you cycle through the channels in myth (in an attempt to get back to what you were watching), it quickly becomes apparent that only channels from one multiplex are available - it's like the channels from other multiplexes were never even there. It's not always the same multiplex when it happens.

I have no idea whether this is related, but when I look at the backend status, it shows 40 encoders! I only have two dual tuners, so 4 tuners in total (nova-T-500s). Furthermore, when I first installed, and this happened in 810 as well, the card was detected 17 or 18 times (i just added the first 4, and then ignored the rest). Again, no idea if this is related, never caused a problem before.

Any ideas? I read that doing a "delete all" on the video sources solves the "many encoders" issue, but it hasn't worked for me.

Cheers,
Matt.

Quite an old thread, and refers to mythtv 0.21, but it's exactly what's happening to me http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/mythtv/users/321657?do=post_view_threaded#321657

He even has x2 Nova-T-500s. No real solution that I can, but one thing that does stick out is that it is potentially caused by selecting "Watch TV" from the myth frontend menu. I will avoid doing that for now in order to reach a diagnosis.

Cheers,
Matt.

I can confirm that if I end up in the myth frontend menu for whatever reason, and then quit myth using the orbiter, and then press TV, the problem does not occur. It's only when I select "watch TV" from the myth menu. So the above link is relevant it would seem.
