Hi,

Just got Dianemo and tried to install it.
First I installed ubuntu 10.10 and had some issues with the nvidia-current (260.19.06-0ubuntu1) which does not support the GT520, so I downloaded the 270.41.06 install script and installed it.
Now once installing Dianemo it installed back nvidia-current (260.19.06-0ubuntu1), and trying to reinstalling manually 270.41.06 was not successful.

Any idea how to solve this issue will be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Eli

Hi Eli,

We are building a new nvidia-current package for Dianemo S10.10 with 270.41.06 this should correct the issue for you and anyone else with newer GTXXX cards. I will post here once the new package has been tested and is available for upgrade... a few hours from now I would expect. Just run the Dianemo upgrade script to upgrade your system with the new package - the script will install the package too.

All the best

Hi Andrew,

I just started again and now I added the swat repository:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-x-swat/x-updates

Then after refreshing the available packages I could see in synaptic version 280.13.
I updated to this version and now the resolution is good.
Starting to install again the Dianemo and will see how it go.

Thanks,
Eli

We have updated the nvidia-current package with 270.41.06 and these will be installed from scratch on a new install or will update an existing install. So the GT520 and any other late model nVidia hardware should now be supported.

Can I just point out that after installing Ubuntu from the Live CD there is no need to install the proprietary drivers if Ubuntu offers the option to do so - just run the installation deb's and they will take care of that for you;

See our Wiki page here for the procedure to update your system; http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Dianemo_S10.10#Updating_Dianemo

The Update script can be run as often as needed and it will always update your system with any new Ubuntu or Dianemo packages and will manage that process for you. The same will be true as we transition to Dianemo S11.10 in the coming weeks.

Hi all,

We have released a further update for nvidia-current on NC & MM's...

If you see a message about the 270.41.06-0ubuntu1 being held back then you can safely force the package to install by doing the following;

sudo apt-get install 270.41.06-0ubuntu1

Have a great weekend.

All the best
