How to setup ZWave security sensors manually?

I have two ZWave security sensors, one is SP103 motion sensor [1] and other is SM103 door sensor [2].

The issue is that they aren't plug and play and as I'm really a linuxmce noob I'm not sure what I'm doing is ok or not. I has no issues with light switches but they are plug and play so they register automatically.

I looked at SP103 wiki page [1] but from I can see that some steps are missing in those instructions.

If anybody who has SP103 can help that would be really great, not only for me but also for anybody else who has SP103 or will buy it soon.

Can you provide STEP-BY-STEP instructions how you added SP103 or SM103 into LinuxMCE? I'll gladly help with WIKI editing if that is a problem for you or you don't have time to do it.

Via current instructions it looks like security modules are added automatically but I'm not seeing that and from what I have read they should be added manually.

So lets make LinuxMCE WIKI more user friendly and help us who have this gear and others who will buy them later.

Please in writing your replies don't take anything for granted, expect that we don't know anything and please explain every step how you did what so that others can reproduce your steps even it they have slightly different setup than you do.

Can't provide you step-by-step instructions, but I found Hari's explanation of some of the Z-wave terms useful in this thread http://forum.linuxmce.org/index.php?topic=10971.0, if you are using the Aeon Labs Z-stick. FYI I haven't got the sensor working yet (still trying to get a NICs working on the core!)

Maybe it will help. I believe the wizard is broken, so it will have to be done manually in any event.

I finally got my brain around some of ZWave ideas and terms and I can now safely say that LinuxMCE ZWave page is really not helpful for LinuxMCE and ZWave beginners.

But now that I finally understand some of ZWave basics (thanks Hari) I can help fix ZWave WIKI page and hopefully other LinuxMCE users.

I'll read upon link you provided and see if it helps, but best thing would be that we get somebody who has everspring modules and give us step-by-step instructions and from that we try to follow that and write WIKI instructions for others after that.

What do you say?

I am all for that, and I'm sure it will help a lot of people out, but I can't help but feel that we are making things difficult for ourselves by not using the recommended interface. It's what the devs are using at the end of the day (the seluxit) and I can only see us having more problems in the future with new devices, future releases, etc.

I can safely say that people just don't care to read the manual provided with the controllers and/or the zensys provided z-wave overviews.
Most people even confuse inclusion and association.
Add to the mess that people are too cheap to buy a proper inclusion remote and want to use that Aeon labs dongle with the inclusion button. Then they rant that their associations are not set up properly (read: my sensor is not working).
