I have been using wall-mounted 15" touchscreens for a my orbiters for a while now, so I have gotten spoiled by the convenience.

Recently, my wife surprised me for christmas by purchasing a WebDT from TK. We have been VERY impressed with this device! The most notable things for me have been:
- Portability. Instead of being mounted to the wall, I can carry it with me, or pass it around to friends to select a movie. Also, battery life for me has been excellent (over 3 hours!), and the suspend feature works great and is flawless.

- This orbiter seems much more integrated than my windows based Datalux touchscreen orbiters. For example, when I reload the router, my windows orbiters sometimes crash as well as show an ugly text log while it reloads. This WebDT orbiter has very nice splash screens to make it seem more appliance like, and I have yet to have it crash.

- Huge WOW factor

if you can afford it, this should be one purchase that anyone should make. It really improves the LMCE experience.

Now, on to things I think would make it even better:

- Inclusion of Photo Screensaver.. I might try this, it may be as simple as copying over the binary and adding the device template as a child of the orbiter

-Inclusion of SimplePhone..  The WebDt has a mic and speakers..  Again, may be as simple as copying in the binary and adding the device template

Overall, a great Orbiter platform.. i hope people don't wait too long to grab these up!

only been using mine a week, but I have really enjoyed it. I haven't purchased any other remotes for the system yet and have just been using a mouse and the pluto orbiter on a laptop. Talk about a step up! Its screen is big enough to display everything and make it readable and usable, but the device is small enough that it is not cumbersome. I have already taught my wife and one of her friends how to use it (proves its easy to use), 95% of the time I experience no delay at all between pushing the button and the system responding.

My vote for next features goes to
*implementing the picture slideshow on the device
*tv guide appears on touchpad and you can scroll and select your channel/show on the device (Thom said this can be done, i just haven't had time to translate his instructions into something I can understand)

Bringing back the web dt to germany, I'm really looking forward to be part of the "web dt experience" ;O)
I was wondering... does the Web DT Image comes with an browser like firefox?
Watching movies/shows in the evening, i like to browse the web (forum.linuxmce.org ! ) and to my mail...
Is this possible with the existing image?

The WebDT 3xx you can grab from ebay... or just buy one already flashed with the proper image from tkmedia.

Feel free to get them from other sources.... just make sure you get the correct models... currently only the image works with 366 only.
Or I will be happy to supply a known working pre-installed unit.
