WebDT 366 PadOrbiter Demonstration Videos
« on: November 19, 2008, 03:42:06 am »
I have made a set of videos with my brand new Flip Ultra cam showing off my WebDT 366 pads and the PadOrbiter Distribution.

You can see them, here:

thanks for the video tschak.

Does somebody know, how I can get one shipped to germany? I can't find a distributor here for DT Research products and shipping them from US will add toll and shipping fee to the price.

eNoodle,  I believe Xybernaut has an office in Germany and sold the WebTD 375 under the name Atigo M, and think the Atigo T is the same as the WedDT 366.

quite correct. DTR did re-badge these for several companies, Xybernaut included.

It is worth noting that the WebDT 375 is a very cut down system in the same chassis, based on an ARM4 processor in little endian mode.

The memory is a bit tighter and the cpu isn't as fast..so it works best with the Windows CE orbiter...

The 36x series by contrast are x86 machines.

Thom - their web site doesn't even mention the 366... does that mean it has been discontinued?

Yes, the WebDT 366 was discontinued in early 2007. Had been made from late 2004 to 2006. It was replaced by the WebDT 360

and your build will/won't work on 360? (will you expand support for it later?)

my build will currently not work as is on the 360, the hardware is close, but different. The 360 comes by default with a MiniPCI wireless card from VIA (the VIA6566) which you could replace with something more sane....

also the touch screen in these devices is configured differently, even though it is the same chipset. I will need to store specific calibration info for it, or provide the calibration utility in the setup portion of the image.

Also worth noting that if you want one of these devices, your best bet is to get them used, because these devices are almost $2000 brand new. They are not consumer devices, but rather, almost-military specced devices. (I wasn't kidding about the magnesium case), and are typically sold through vertical integration channels for data acquisition applications in the medical, point of sales, and digital signature markets.

With that said, tkmedia is selling these devices, with my orbiter image preinstalled for $250 + shipping.

Other tablets that could be made to work with this distribution include the various M series tablets from Motion Computing (i.e. the Motion M1300, M1400, the newest LE series, etc.)

Thom,
I just wanted to thank you for doing these screencasts.  In addition to the main topic that you cover, every time I watch one I learn something else about LinuxMCE's capabilities -- I can't believe I hadn't used the search function until I watched this video.

Cheers!

You're welcome. I will do a more in depth screencast dealing with the different orbiters, soon.
