Has anybody come across these before? http://www.thecheaplaptops.co.uk/tablet-inch-wifi-ebook-office-1080p-h264-hdmi-black-p-387.html

I love my Nokia N800, but I find the screen a little small (planning on converting it into a wall-mounted orbiter), and thought this looked pretty good. One potential disadvantage is the built-in battery.

Runs Windows CE 6.0 R3, so I guess it might be a good candidate for compiling the touch orbiter on? Failing that, I assume the web orbiter would work as well.

If anybody knows of any other alternative devices with this kind of screen size that are cheaper than £150, please post it here!

If all you are after is a 7" Orbiter, search for touch* 7* on ebay, and you should find plenty in the 100EUR range delivered.

Thanks for the responses guys, some really useful information there.

That Eken m002 looks pretty smart.

I had looked at the webDTs, but there doesn't seem to be many around in the UK, and it doesn't support WPA encryption. Also looks a bit beyond my ability in terms of setting it up, reflashing it should I need to, etc.

Thanks again all!

hi
i think some one has ported the orbitter to work on an android os and not just the weborbitter  which works really well on the eken ,you might want to wait a week or two

I must admit that I don't like the thought of buying a Windows CE-based device.... but they just seem so much cheaper!

I like the look of this one for example http://www.thecheaplaptops.co.uk/brand-touch-tablet-windows-netbook-laptop-wifi-nand-p-425.html?cPath=21_139

80 quid for a brand new device doesn't seem too bad to me!

This does sound good, has anyone got this working as an orbiter yet?

I didn't get it in the end, I am leaning more towards the Eken M003 now.
