just saw the update come through... WOW!  Great job, Thom and Thanks!  Just a quick note to anyone else with this issue, I had to reboot all of my MDs after the update to get it to work...

I have had a working 10.04 system up and running for sometime now and all of a sudden my Hulu stopped working.. not a big deal for me as I can use the computing feature but it is my wife's favorite feature of LMCE.  I removed and added the software module multiple times and did quick reloads or reboots after each time and still not working.  Here are some logs from the MD:

Code: [Select]
@moon114:/var/log/pluto# cat 212_Hulu_Player.log

which doesn't tell me anything... but this pops up in the logs after attempting to start Hulu
Code: [Select]

anyone with any ideas?  The last line of this log file actually makes me think it is an issue with the NVidia driver..

This is gonna sound nuts... but... in mythtv... somebody hit the "=" key. Please tell me if you experience a change in surround.

Doesn't appear to do anything...

Thanks for the great work on the audio over HDMI!  This has always been tricky to accomplish on linux and after I ran the AV wizard, it was up and running!  The problem I experience though is with the multi-channel aac... even after altering /etc/pluto/xine.conf and I can still only get 2 channel audio and no center so no voices...

My newer media is encoded with aac audio so this is something I would like to fix so any suggestions would be great!

Thanks, Thom... I figured it would be something like that.  As a side note, I saw your youtube video on porting PS1 to the Game Player but do not see any mention of that in this update.  Is that something you are still working on or have you put that on hold for now?

Here are a couple of the Spawn_emulator logs using different titles to ensure I wasn't missing something.  Hope this helps!

Long time reader, second time poster - please be gentle with me.

I have been playing around with this for the past couple weeks and you have done a lot of great work!  I have found no issues with any of the Sega and NES titles I have and have enjoyed playing them with my kids and showing off the 16bit power of yesteryear.  What I have not been able to do though is play any of the SNES titles and I'm not sure if I am doing something wrong or if you would like me to file a ticket.  It could be something as simple as the file extension but here is what my log files say...

01      10/22/12 11:54:30.102           X11EmulatorController::doAction() - No Window ID set while trying to do action EXIT. Please do a run() first. <0xb598fb70>
01      10/22/12 11:54:32.107           Game_Player::CMD_Stop_Media - Emulator has crashed. Reporting it to Orbiters. <0xb598fb70>

I have also tried adding them to the snes folder (NTSC) and I get the same issue with over a dozen different titles. The wiki has no information on adding snes ROM titles and I could not discern any file extension problems within the source code I viewed. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Installation issues / Re: Mame Installation Issue
« on: May 24, 2011, 04:32:20 am »
First off, I do know this is an old thread and since there hasn't been a 'real' solution posted, I figured I would update it just in case anyone else comes across this issue as I did.  I let my core try to download the mame-metadata for 4 days without touching the system.  Only when it locked up my MDs did I take action.  After rebooting the core, it would hang on 'Installing: lmce-mame-metadata' and my MDs would not boot - kind of an issue for a MC, so here is the solution I used:

ssh into the core, yes it will let you.

remove the locks on the system from the packages trying to download
sudo rm /var/lib/dpkg/lock
sudo rm /var/cache/apt/archives/lock

and finally install the package manually

sudo apt-get install lmce-mame-metadata

this method will also show the progress, time remaining, etc.
