Ok so I noticed to day that all my orbiters had the language set to Dutch, no idea how it happened

I changed them all back to English, did full rebuild all reloded router and rebooted my core, but still no text.

Also when i regen the routers they instantly go to finished rebuilding orbiter, they don't show the usual progress bar

Any ideas???

Installation issues / All orbiter text has disapeared 1004
« on: July 17, 2011, 04:53:57 pm »
I've had a usable 1004 installation for a while now and today after a reboot all orbiter text on every orbiter is missing, images with text are still there (i.e. lights media climate buttons on the on screen orbiter and UI1 on mobile orbiters) but the text displaying the titles of media and the synopsis etc aren't showing up, there a are just blank spaces, not even the user room and time show up on the main on screen orbiter page.

I was using a auto install script for rtorrent and rutorrent before i rebooted, but I have used this for a while and ran it several times.  Because I've ran it several times it has been assigning different ports to rutorrent (the latest being 23877-79) could this be causing a conflict?

As i said I have used this script before without issue, perhaps it is unrelated

I've tried full regen of all orbiters followed by reload of router and reboot but this hasn't fixed it and I have no idea where to look next.

Any help would be much apreciated

Well I tried this out and it runs fine, activated with a single command so it would be easy to add to a startup script.

However it doesn't make enough of an improvement to play 720p video smoothly.

Looks like I'm buying a Broadcom Crystal HD

Great work Thom!

Thanks, for your continued work on the emu support

it lists "IntelĀ® 2008Q4 graphics package" as a Prerequisite

How does that equate to the intel drivers currently used under linuxMCE 1004?

Hi

Was looking at improving my onboard GPU (to play 720p media smoothly) on my B202 Media director and stumbled upon this

http://www.gmabooster.com/download_linux.htm

Does anybody have any experience with it?

Would it be possible to run it on a MD?

Well since I didn't have a working system anyway and I had tried several re -installs at this point anyway I thought it would do no harm to give 1004 a go.

And the MD built with no errors first time, no mods needs straight out of the box.

Great work on 1004 so far guys.

So Thats an Asus B202 built as media director under 1004 with no problems (so far)
I have only tried Ui1 so far, resolution set to 1080p.  Some HD media is a bit jumpy, but I think thats a limitation of the B202 hardware.

Ok so running with the theory that this is a problem with my network config, (I had to assign the proper eth0 and eth1 to my NICs by editing /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules

So I deleted this file and swapped the cables (I had already used the webui to swap the NIC)
re ran Diskless_CreateTBZ.sh
rebooted the core
deleted the MD and allowed it to rebuild by way of PXE booting my MD.
But it still comes up with the same error.

Can anybody help me please?

P.S. when I press ctrl alt f12 I can see strings of text all with segfault at358 ....... error 4 in libmysqlclient_r.so15.0.0

Yup, a couple of times reloading router and rebooting the core each time too.

Installation issues / [SOLVED] problem building media director
« on: June 02, 2011, 03:00:10 pm »
Hi I have recently been trying to build a media director using PXE boot.
At first I was getting a "cant find kernel error" but I discovered there was no MD# folder under tftboot and obviously no symlinks to vmlinuz and initrd.img here either.  So i created those and the build progressed. (the MD# folder dispapears when I rebuild the MD via webUI)

now it freezes at "done rebuilding nis cache"

cycling through using ctrl alt and f keys I can see

"Error 1045 (28000): access denied for user 'root @ ...."

any ideas ?

soemone else had this problem recently http://forum.linuxmce.org/index.php?topic=11432.0
and here http://forum.linuxmce.org/index.php?topic=11086.0
the last one was resolved by swapping NICs but mine are already eth0 for external eth1 for internal
I'm using the following snapshot
 LinuxMCE-8.10-24012-i386.iso     25-May-2011 20:16
Gonna try rebuilding my core with the latest snapshot tonight nut any help woul dbe apreciated

I also have a similar problem but when building a media director

cycling through using ctrl alt and f keys I can see

"Error 1045 (28000): access denied for user 'root @ ...."

any ideas ?

Ok so I got the symbolic links in /usr/pluto/diskless/##/ and  /usr/pluto/diskless/##/boot pointing to the correct kernels

I copied over the files from /boot since the correct ones werent in  /usr/pluto/diskless/##/boot by default

ls -l reports the following

I've re ran diskless.sh, reloaded router, rebuilt media director and through webui (each time having to fix sym links), and rebooted the core but I'm still getting "could not find kernel image" error when I try to PXE boot, see pic.

Its an asus B202 if that helps, up to date bios, I haven't done the r8168 as the wiki said it wasnt needed for 0810.  I#ve also checked tftpboot for symlinks but couldnt find any.

Any ideas?  Please

P.S. Would it be frowned upon if I reposted this in a new thread?, not sure if this one has gone off topic

I've been tinkering in /usr/pluto/diskless/81/boot since my last post
  • cp'd over the above files from /boot
  • made new symlinks to vmlinuz and initrd.img using "sudo ln initrd.img-2.6.32-02063208-generic initrd.img"

shouldn't the output of ls -l /usr/pluto/diskless/81/boot show where the symlinks point to, did i recreate them incorrectly?

I also couldn't find an equivelant for vmcoreinfo-2.6.27-17-generic in /boot
