Looks interesting though. Makes me wonder if the developer of ZoneMinder (seems to be just one guy) should partner up with the LinuxMCE community to have his code included in LinuxMCE.
1) His code would have a larger audience
2) LinuxMCE could have a larger audience still
3) Everybody wins.

   I believe you and I have the same setup and I have to agree w/fastie81. I saw a similar behavior originally. Even if my video (LCD, plasma, monitor, etc.) is receiving the input from the HDMI source and has the HDMI source as selected, just the fact that I had the VGA cable connected to the motherboard (VGA D-sub connector) would make the splash screen not show.

Test it out...just have the HDMI connector and no other video cables connected.

3) Then, read up on http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/X10

This will clarify many of the questions you may have and will help you start getting your list together.

We will try to help you, but please don't expect anyone to "design your house" simply by going out to the middle of the street and saying "someone please design my house" (figuratively speaking of course).

The site seems to be working fine right now. When the time for the moneys to be doled out come, I'll need some information as to where to send that money, but we can talk about that when the time comes.

If the community feels somebody else should manage this, I'll be more than happy to provide the login name and password for the site immediately upon request.

In the mean time...enjoy your new Blastoff site guys...We should probably have a link to this site from the main site. Then, when we invite people to join the Blastoff Network, we will get paid every time they make a purchase within the Blastoff Network. Think about getting paid every time anyone buy a song on iTunes, books at Barnes & Noble or a new TV at Target. As people begin to invite other people, we will see the network and the income begin to virally grow. So spread the word and get ready to Blastoff! 

Yeah...I know...the site just opened yesterday at 12:00pmCST and there's a whole slew of people trying to access it. They crashed the load-balancer yesterday and they're working on getting all their servers up to par, but keep trying and you'll see what its all about.

Hey guys!

 We've talked here about ways to get support money and donations for LinuxMCE, right? Well, I just found this brand new website that promises to be the next big thing on the Internet and can make some money to be put into our Donation Bin. Its called Blastoff!  Whoever controls the donation money bin needs to create the Blastoff/Linuxmce site by joining in to the page and then we can just tell the community to join that Blastoff page to help us raise development funds.

 I can take care of creating the Blastoff/Linuxmce site, but I'll need some information as to what the email of the account will be.

 This site is brand new so we have to take advantage of being the first ones so that other people that decide to help us with donations can join from the Blastoff/Linuxmce site.

 The site is very easy to set up, and customizable. And this promises to go viral very very soon.

 The LinuxMCE project will benefit everytime anyone in the Blastoff/Linuxmce network decides to buy something online from the over 400 merchants available on the Blastoff site. In addition, we will accrue payments from the purchases by other members that join Blastoff from our Blastoff/Linuxmce site (down to 10 levels).

  For example, we heard that Pizza Hut is scheduled to start promoting this and trying to sign up customers to their site...So if they can do it, how much more can the Linux community accomplish. and all proceeds from the website will go towards LinuxMCE development.

  This is mainly for our US based guys, but of course our non-US friends can help also spread the word to US-based ones.

I agree that the new site is visually much more appealing but functionally much less useful. The 'old' site was a front piece to the Wiki essentially, and I still believe firmly that the Wiki is where all content should reside. The Web site should only deliver the 'bait' to get people interested in 'digging' further...so I would see it carrying these front-piece 'articles' with visuals etc...but everything beneath that should be in the Wiki.

The Wiki enables us to leverage the community in terms of creating/editing/updating pages rather than specific people or individuals. What we need is some 'design' guidelines for the Wiki so that we get a more consistent 'look & feel' to all the pages.

Agree...the Web site should just be "the bait", the door to more information (in the Wiki)...if not it has the potential to turn into a project by itself and take time away from everyone to focus on the essentials...

Dito on the "look & feel" also...With the great "new look" of the site, the wiki should follow suit.

We should use the main site for updates on features, builds, news on LinuxMCE (from the team), etc... We should leave user generated content to the forum and wiki.

Exactly!  That's what I'm talking about...User-generated content should stay in the wiki.

I have to caution (or call attention to) the fact that it seems we may be putting way too much emphasis on the "locked down" "static" site as opposed to the wiki site.  I feel that, while there are good benefits in having our "main" site be professional-looking, engaging and even sexy, there are enormous benefits to continuing to improve and having the wiki and have it be the center for all information. Why? Just look at the "bureaucracy" or hoops we have to go through just to change simple annoying misspellings on the static site.

For documentation and LinuxMCE to grow, we can't have the edits and all information be funneled through one or two individuals putting things up on the site. That right there is the power of a Wiki type of site.

I may be wrong (and I admit I frequently am) but this is just another point of view to keep in mind...

Is it possible to use the Mythbuntu distro instead of the Kubunt distro.  This would mean that the Ubuntu team has already completed a heap of the MythTv intergration into ubuntu for you guys.  I dont know what percentage this would reduce your work load by but anyamount is more time on the cool features.

What about the Mythbuntu aspect of his question? I haven't played w/Mythbuntu yet, but it seems like a reasonable question...
