This card has much of the same components:
Socket: AM2
Northbridge: AMD 690G
Southbridge: ATI SB600
Graphics: ATI Radeon X1250

So if you are going to use LinuxMCE as an Hybdrid running VDR then it should work. But no promises!

Also from the wiki:

This motherboard has NOT YET been confirmed to fully work with LinuxMCE properly (or vice versa) by anyone. Do NOT buy it just because you saw it here, you have been warned.

As VDR is now, it works only on the core and the menus are not finished.
The EPG works fine. DVB cards must be installed in the Core only.

Just to make it clear: So I must have my cards in the core, but it is also the only place I can watch Tv?

But I understand that if 0710 is going to be released anytime soon they will have to make some sacrifices. But VDR is the most important feature in 0710 for me.

Do I understand correctly that it is not possible to use a MD to see TV with VDR? You have to use it as an Hybrid?

This card is not only FTA, you have to have an extra ci module and cam to read your subscription card.

I have not seen any S2 twin tuner setups btw.

Zaerc: Ok, as I understand VDR is best at DVB, but it has to be used in a Hybrid setup?

Hello

I'm about to invest in a full LinuxMCE system with an core - MD setup and have made a list over my needs for this system:

MD:
*diskless setup in MD
*HDMI
*ATX
*GbLan

Core:
*Dual GbLan
*storage server
*DVB-s2 cards

I have found these two motherboards that fit my needs:

MD:MSI K9AG Neo2-Digital
Core:MSI K9N SLI Platinum

Is AMD still a no go in Beta 3? I have seen Venom986 in the wiki having some success http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/ASUS_M2A-VM

Any comments? Planning to order this system this weekend.

I have very good luck with abit AN-M2HD so far I have been running 0704 and now beta 2 0710.
I have two now 1 as Hybrid/Core and another as MD seem very stable so far.

Still early in 0710 testing

Have you tried playing HD materials on this board?
