Installation issues / running horribly slow
March 25, 2007, 09:47:57 PM
the interface loads up and it is moving incredibly slow, my video card should be able to handle the UI2 without transparency, i got the ati fglrx driver installed and loaded properly I even tested glxgears. Maybe I will copy my xorg.conf over or something.

Feature requests & roadmap / firewire support
March 25, 2007, 09:03:32 PM
I was reading that myth tv supports capturing from firewire and hd cable boxes with firewire available. I was wondering how this would be implemented into LinuxMCE, I am willing to help out.
#9
i was wondering the same thing, unfortunatly the interface and everything is all fuxxored, i need to fix video support first.
#10
look at the mythtv website and see if the tuner is supported in myth tv, that should give you a good idea if it will be supported by linuxmce
#11
why are you burning the .deb file? throw it on a pen drive or something then just double click it and it will install the mce install program, once u install the deb file u get a desktop icon saying install linuxmce
#12
im trying to commendeer my dads computer for this, that way i have something that i can throw my tv tuner card in because with my laptop the only way i was going to use LinuxMCE is if i could get firewire capture from my hd box.
#13
eww i got it working without the transparency ... so slow on that computer, i need to try and fix the video settings in ubuntu
