I have download the Orbiter for symbian os http://deb.linuxmce.org/PlutoMO_3rd.sisx and installed it on my Nokia E52. The installation worked without errors , but when I try to launch the application I get this error:

"unable to execute file for security reason".

Anyone know how to fix this?

Any news on this? I have the exact same situation with E71.
Thanks, Kooma

I gave up and gave the phone to my wife :)

you need to tweak the security settings on the phone. Our App is signed with a self signed certificate.

Only found few settings related to this and they should be fine: All software installations allowed, no certificate checking. And the installation goes through.

The help files talk about java settings and where to access them, however, they are not there. Perhaps the unit is somehow limited. Need to try with some other phone.

I had the same problem with my N96. I gave the phone as many permissions for installing programs as I could find on the phone (including the guide which pointed to things which weren't there) but even after I installed it I got the same error message.

Furthermore, when I MCE discovered my phone and I set my phone to be a Symbian phone, the application would be sent to my phone fine but then my phone would delete it instantly. I tried several times but the only way to get it on my phone was to copy it across using the cable. But like I say, once installed I couldn't use it.

welcome  to the reality of phone development. Most new symbian phones now will not accept unsigned apps.

Anyone want to fork over the several thousand dollars needed to sign the app?

I told it to allow unsigned apps. Still nothing.
