I'm currently using Linux Mint. I was wondering if LinuxMCE DVR function work well? Is it better than Myth Tv? ;D

We wrap whatever DVR is selected during the setup process. We support both MythTV and VDR currently, with the possibility of integrating others in the future. You can then control MythTV using our distributed UI system, Orbiter. Which is a house-wide UI that is retargetable to a huge number of devices, such as the on-screen TV displays, touch screen tablets, PDAs, MIDs, web devices, IP telephones, and mobile phones.

MythTV is what is used by Linuxmce, (alternatively there is an option to use vdr). Linuxmce isn't a pvr.  It is a way of integrating home automation and audio and video distribution around the home.

To summarise: Linuxmce isn't a different way to get pvr functionality, rather it is a wider system incorporating a choice of pvr systems (MythTV and vdr).
