Video: Demonstration of SimplePhone and USB Speakerphone
« on: April 09, 2009, 03:13:14 am »
I have uploaded two videos demonstrating the softphone built into each media director, and its proper usage.

Of note, this uses the new support for the Phoenix Solo USB microphone that was added into this week's build of 0810.

Thanks Thom, very informative.

Just ordered a nokia e65 and want to start using it with asterisk here in the UK. Nice to see a more simple solution in 810. Will be looking at this in more detail soon.

Thank you very much... your videos are VERY helpful. I think I have watched ALL of them several times and definitely help us understand the functionality of the system.

Keep up the good work.

Hi,

I've received two pieces of Duet and would like to try it with 7.10. I guess device is pretty PnP with system, but I wonder if I can leave main sound card output tied to Audio receiver and use Duet solely for VOIP purposes - embedded phone and if I can determine embedded phone to use Duet as sound device ?

Thanks in advance,

regards,

Bulek.

Yes at least with the solo .... further testing needs to be done with the duet.

On my 810 latest release, I tried Phoenix "Solo USB microphone" on 2 MD's with audio set for stereos, and one MD audio set for SPDIF, it works great with Audio set for Stereo but not so great with audio set to SPDIF.
On the SPDIF system, first time I installed it, I called the MD it Rang the speaker that is connected to the microphone as expected I answered the call from the orbiter it worked for 10 seconds then I lost the audio, then I canceled the call and I tried to play music the sound came out from the speakers that was connected to the microphone, I had to re-run the AVWizard to switch it back to SPDIF, then after that the solo works only for 10 seconds then it will disconnect and never answer any call until I reboot the MD.
Can someone try it and let me know if he's gettting the same results??

Thanks.

Is this still working in 10.04?

The mechanism by which this worked, was not optimal, it failed in a lot of special cases. So it was rewritten for 12.04, to have a device data to specify which sound card device to use on the SimplePhone. If it doesn't work out of the box, then you can use linphonec to get the sound device name, and then put that inside the /etc/pluto/simplephone.conf, and restart SimplePhone.
