Not without replacing the network card in the unit.

Does wep work with the existing card then?

What is working wpa card or where can I get more info on it?

tschak909

yes WEP works with the existing card.

The existing card is typically a Cisco Aironet 350, which its firmware has severe problems with WPA, as the card was designed before WPA became standardised.

If you wish to replace the card, You need another type of card with antenna couplings that can fit in the PCMCIA slot with nothing sticking out past the top of the slot, there aren't many like that.

to be exact it is the linux driver that has problems with wpa. The airo-wpa driver kinda works but looses connection now and then. That makes the Orbiter timeout and relaunch. Not the best experience..

I'm now using a normal cardbus 802.11g card. When you remove the antenna that covers the slot you can fit pretty any wlan card into the slot.

Hi Everybody,

there is a WebDT 360 on german Ebay right now and while readig through this thread I get a little bit confused.

There is a post from tschak909:
QuoteThis is for a WebDT 366? We do not support the 360, yet.

and another one from alx9r saying:
QuoteI just got my hands on the WebDT 360 I bought from tkmedia.  It was preloaded with an orbiter image although I'm not sure exactly which version.

Can anybody please clarify if 360s are supported at the moment, as I'm very interested in buying this device...

Thanks in advance

hari

the WebDT366 are supported by tschak's image. The 360 are not.

Thanks for the added information on this guys. I have a few Netgear cards I will test out later using WPA to see if I can get it going.

Now, I gotta try to find some of the docking units for the dt366.

Hari, I believe you mentioned in another thread that you are using a Netgear WPN511 V2. What is the difference between the v2 and the standard one? I know the netgear are being sold really cheap as refurb cards. I was able to grab one for $9 canadian...I will test to see if it works.

I get this error after flashing on boot:

Can't read CTR while initializing i8042

Then I get the splash screen, but nothing else. I never get the network setup. Any ideas?

tschak909

press the third soft button on the bottom when the splash screen has appeared.

That had no effect.

tschak909

attach a keyboard, when you see the splash screen, type control-C t
it should display a terminal.

then try running /usr/local/bin/TabletCFG
