please look at the core i've spec'd
« on: October 08, 2008, 04:29:09 pm »
i'm currently using a msi media live as a hybrid, and i'd like to build a separate core.  price is a big issue and i've managed to find some cheap parts that might work, but i'm looking for any advice regarding the system i've picked out.  mostly i'm concerned that the parts will be either not compatible or not powerful enough.

H Fignuts,

Your system looks ok. The processor is more than adequate. There are users here who use alot less than this and don't run into any problems. Your RAM is more than what you would probably ever utilise and unlike windows based o/s linuxmce does not tend to be a memory hog.

Edit: If you do get it runnning, please add it to the wiki.

Best of luck

Justin

thanks justin.  i'm using a slower cpu in my hybrid right now and it keeps up just fine.  but the one i listed is so cheap i figure why not.  too much can't hurt :).
