« on: October 03, 2008, 04:18:38 pm »
cause very strange, in 740p a simple divx is freezing every 5 seconds in ui2!
the cpu run 6% (xine with top)

config

Code: [Select]
proc: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU     E8400  @ 3.00GHz
motherboard: Gigabyte GA-EP43-DS3 (Intel P43 Express) - ATX (alc888 audio)
ram: 2GB corsair
Graphic card: GeForce 8500 GT (rev a1) dvi/hdmi pciE

The dvi work, hdmi ouput not !!

I installed latest nvidia driver
Code: [Select]
NVIDIA-Linux-x86-173.14.12-pkg1.runlike explained here:http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Display_Drivers#NVidia_Chipsets

nothing change (except the pitch quality is better)
when I run kaffeine, same freeze happen.

when I run kaffeine, same freeze happen.
...

Well, that basicly rules out that the problem is with LMCE, sounds like a badly encoded file to me.

hy zaerc, thks for replying!

In fact I'm sure it come from lmce/kubuntu because I already installed lmce on this config and was able to play this divx and boxers.mkv without any problem (in fact I had problem that I fixed but I can figure how, can't remember).
Now I only can play the divx in 420p and the mkv can be played only with kaffeine and not any more on lmce (in 420p, 740 or 1080) !!

SMART turned on for the hard disks?  I remember way back in the past that this would cause my DVD burns to fail, but it was usually about 5 minute intervals.

thank you for helping, I can only test tomorrow but will try !!
To make kubuntu detect the hard drive I had to enable ahci in bios !! and when playing a mkv files (that was working on lmce on the last install 1 week ago) the red hdd led keep going on until lmce stop to play (2 min - see the log above) !
It's why I think it's a hadd or sata controller problem but not sure, can come from codec (ffdshow), nvidia driver bug ??? don't know !

For the network I had to do the unrecognised nic wiki page for the r8111 realtek
