Could we possibly get an update to the wiki approved hardware list.

I can confirm that the:
BFG Tech 7600 GS 512MB AGP Card
http://www.bfgtech.com/bfgr76512gsoc.aspx

Intel D850EMD2 motherboard w/ Audio subsystem for AC '97 processing using the Analog Devices AD1885 codec
http://www.intel.com/design/motherbd/md2/index.htm

Linksys LNE100TX 10/100 Ethernet PCI Card

Are all 100% LinuxMCE compatible!

Also, I would greatly recommend the Antec NSK2480 case as the setup was easy. The case is sleek and looks beautiful on my home theater stand. Make sure that your graphics card is not a power hog as this case only has a 380w PSU. However, the PSU can be swapped out with another ATX PSU.

What I need to know is 100% LinuxMCE compatible:
Sound Card w/ SPDIF coaxial and optical outputs (PCI Only)
Wireless Network Card <--- My core is in the living room and my router in the bedroom.
Remote Control (that is not $150, sorry Fiire)
An extremely Heat Sink and Fan that fits a Pentium 4 - 478 Socket Processor

How do you add hardware to the wiki???

The instructions here (http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Adding_your_own_hardware) are a little confusing.

To add a new page, create a new URL like this:

http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Name of the page you want to add
The preferred URL naming convention for hardware, for example, is:

http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Manufacturer Model-Type-Etcetera
The URL of this page is:

http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Add_a_page_to_the_wiki
The wiki will replace any spaces with underscores automatically. Go to the newly created webpage and start editing it.

Where do you create the new URL?

darrenmason

Firstly, make sure that you create an account and log in.

Enter the URL into your browser - if it doesn't exist then you will be taken to an edit screen.

I have take time to update all my compatible hardware with LinuxMCE.

My Contributions:
Video Card: http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/BFGTech_GeForce_7600GS_512MB
Motherboard: http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Intel_D850EMD2
Case: http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Antec_NSK2480
Network Card: http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Linksys_LNE100TX

Please take time to update the hardware compatibility list. I have yet to see anyone confirm a postive experience with S/PDIF technology especially with the newer cards on the market or audio that is built into the motherboard.

thanks for the contributions to the wiki. please keep adding stuff you've used. We are really starting to bring some organization to the hardware section so the more stuff there, the better for everyone.

Also, i would like to request that you document your lmce setup whenever you have a chance. The user setups section is starting to fill out nicely :)
Linuxmce - Where everyone is never wrong, but we are always behind xbmc in the media / ui department.

Crash

I added my graphics card too. http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Evga_8600gts

When I get a chance I'll add all the graphics cards I count NOT get to work.

I am currently in the process of building a hardware database application to run on the linuxmce.org web site. It will start off very simple, and grow as needs expand. Should be available in the next week at latest, will let you all know.
