Q about Analog TV Card and System layout
« on: May 25, 2008, 09:39:16 am »
Hi, i am a newbie concerning LMCE, i searched a lot but couldn't find satisfying information.
.) I set up a CORE server (not hybrid) and i put a analog TV card in (bt848 chipset). Is it possible to watch tv at the Media Directors with this card?
If yes how can i configure this card or MythTV, is there a possibility at the admin site?
.) Is it possible to launch a KDE-Desktop at the CORE to check if the card is working. So far, i tried lspci and lsmod, everything looks fine, modules loaded and so on.
.) Which software exactly do i need to watch DVDs?
.) Which software exactly do i need to rip DVDs to my CORE so i can watch it later?
.) Is there a possibility to record TV or isn't that possible with my old card (Hauppauge WinTV PCI)?

For now i use a P3-600 with 512MB Ram next week i will upgrade to an AMD 64 3000+ (1.8GHz) and 1GB Ram i just need a new Mainboard. LMCE Version is 710 rc2.
Network Boot of the MDs works fine, i like it.

Thanks for your help.
