While upgrading from 710beta3 to 710 beta4
« on: March 18, 2008, 01:55:29 am »
Ok - I tried to upgrade from a working 710 beta 3 to 710 beta 4. What I have now is a system that only the core will start. After launching LinuxMCE the core start and then it start to generate the skins for the orbitor. I am running a hybrid machine. It completes, then begins to try to start up the other components. The first thing I notice is, can not start orbitor, no skins found. That is followed by failure to start xine, and most of the MD sub system. Any one have a clue how I can get back to sanity?

Any help will be appreciate.

Thanks

Dave

I've also replied via a private message.

I don't know the answer in your particular case, but I would like to look around on your machine (see private message).

In general we will test all install & upgrade paths for the final release, and doing a clean install with a beta after reporting the problem on the forums is your best bet (and was your only option for betas 1 & 2).
