Hi,

Is it possible to install a pluto MD onto a local drive (easily?!), rather than net booting? ie, have all the software installed on a local device (maybe a CF card?), just nfs mounting the data (home) directories.

Cheers,

Darren.

it's not easy to do that but it's not imposible either, but at this time you can only have a network boot, so we don't support md's onto a local drive

Fair enough, another one to add to my list of projects!

I need to do it 'cos I've got a compaq tc1000 tablet pc to mess with. Works fairly well as a media director whilst in the docking station with a hard wired net connection, but the wifi connection doesn't support pxe boot.

Hopefully I can get the MD software installed locally, configure all the special hardware (power save, active pen, etc) and have a mobile media director. At the very least I want to use it as an orbiter.

Thanks,

Darren.
